Late last week the Australian Music Centre announced the details of their annual Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address, a panel discussion delivered by outstanding creatives and leaders in the music community. The 2021 address features three musically diverse panellists, ethno-jazz pianist and composer Zela Margossian, unconventional, tradition-challenging composer and percussionist Bree van Reyk and singer, composer and improviser Sia Ahmad. The panel will discuss our diverse Australian music community, connecting with one another, supporting creative output and building capacity for a more sustainable future, something that I’m sure many of our struggling artists would love to be inspired by in these crazy times. The conversation will be streamed live for free at 1:30pm AEDT on Thursday November 4 here.

Our local music industry has undoubtedly been one of the hardest hit throughout this worldwide pandemic, however these talented women have grown and evolved during this time, finding and developing new ways to nourish their creativity and support one another. This panel is going to motivate, educate and encourage musical artists and professionals from all areas of our industry, it’s the positivity we all need right now and the best part is it’s for FREE for anyone to watch.
